This letter was sent to Klaus Wunderlich by the famous composer Robert Stolz after Teldec released the LP «Adieu, mein kleiner Gardeoffizier», featuring melodies by the composer, in 1973. This letter was even printed on the cover of the original release of the LP.
Translation:
Dear Mr. Wunderlich,
I have just heard the tape of your recording of the LP Klaus Wunderlich Plays Robert Stolz Tunes. The selection of titles is excellent. You have really chosen 16 of my most popular and beloved songs. Your interpretation of my melodies is captivating. The tempi and nuances are spot on. You play my compositions with so much feeling that, as a composer, I couldn't dream of a better rendition. You are one of the greatest virtuosos of the electronic organ world. Your production gives the impression that five different orchestras are playing. You are such a master of registration on the organ. There is no doubt that you will achieve international success with this LP, as you have with your others. I thank you and your colleagues from the bottom of my heart for this magnificent recording, which has made me very happy. With my sincerest best wishes that all your dreams may come true, I remain with the deepest admiration.
